Attached is the schedule of events for Kattivik 2004! Confirmed dance groups are from the Russian Far East, Diomede and Kotzebue. I am working on sponsorships from dance groups from Tikigaq, Barrow, and Wales. If you would like to assist with boat transportation to pick people up from Wales, please contact me. We will provide gas but will rely on volunteers.
Those of you living in Kotzebue are encouraged to open your homes for our visitors. Come ON, show your Qiqiktagramuit hospitality!!! Quyannaq!!!
A hospitality house will be set up at the Senior Center to provide free meals for visitors from July 1 - 12. Kotzebue residents are encouraged to bring a dish, soup, fish, salads, baked goods to the Senior Center for the hospitality house... Arigaa, things are looking great... The City of Kotzebue ordered cool t-shirts and Jeannie Greene and her Heartbeat Alaska crew will be here...
On July 6th there will be Kattivik activities in Kotzebue AND across the bay at Nuvuguraq!!! If you would like a ride to Nuvuguraq, meet at Hanson's at 12 noon. Yes, we do need boats! We'll provide the gas and we'll be on our way!!!
Volunteers are still needed to create Eskimo face pins. Anyone interested is welcome to come to the Senior Center Friday's at 3:00 to assemble. These pins will be attached to the first place ribbons for all of the fun events... What a great souvenir from the 2004 Kattivik experience! Yes, in addition to the ribbons, there will be cash prizes!!! Yes, help is always welcome and Qiqiktagramuit, don't forget to pick up trash in your neighborhood... Quyannaq~
