Job Description

Corrections Officer

Qualifications:
1. Must be 21 years of age, and a citizen of the United States.
2. Must have a High School Diploma, or GED.
3. Ability to Type 40 wpm.
4. Ability to remain calm under emergency conditions, while exercising sound judgement.
5. Must possess a confidential, proficient and helpful manner to the public.
6. Ability to follow orders.
7. Must have no Felony Convictions or Misdemeanor Assault Convictions.
8. Must have a current Alaska Drivers License.

Duties:
1. Receive and dispatch calls, emergencies, alarms, police, fire, general messages and record information carefully and accurately.
2. Check and care for detention facility prisoners.
3. Perform and/or assume other job or work related duties as assigned.

Salary: $19.48/hr.

Immediate Supervisor: Corrections Sergeant
