Job Description

Juvenile Guard

Qualifications:
1. Must have a High School Diploma, or GED.
2. Must be 21 years of age, in good physical and mental condition, and with good moral character.
3. Must be a citizen of the United States.
4. Not have any misdemeanor of felony convictions of Domestic Violence.
5. Not have any misdemeanor or felony convictions against any person under 18 years of age.
6. Must possess or be capable of obtaining an Alaska drivers license
7. Will be subject to an extensive background investigation and fingerprinting
8. Must possess current CPR & First Aid certification
9. Able to deal with stressful and/or high pressure situations
10. Able to follow orders
11. Must meet the approval of the Chief of Police and the Juvenile Guard Coordinator

Duties:
1. Provide security for juveniles (male & female) already in custody for a length of time not to exceed 12 hours.
2. Maintain a log-book documenting routine security checks and significant events.
3. Prevent escape and control individuals in custody.
4. Maintain high levels of confidentiality.
5. Complete written reports as necessary.
6. Travel to other youth facilities with the juvenile in custody if needed.

Salary: $15.00/hr.
