CITY OF KOTZEBUE, ALASKA ORDINANCE NO. 06-07

ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2.36.080, 'AMBULANCE SERVICE,' OF THE KOTZEBUE MUNICIPAL CODE

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KOTZEBUE, ALASKA:

Section 1. This is a Code Ordinance.
Section 2. The current Section 2.36.080 of Title 2 of the Kotzebue Municipal Code, "Ambulance service," is attached hereto as Exhibit "A."
Section 3. The revised and annotated version of Section 2.36.080 is attached hereto as Exhibit "B" with annotations bolded and underlined and deletions bracketed.
Section 4. The new Section 2.36.080 of Title 2 of the Kotzebue Municipal Code, which is hereby enacted, is attached hereto as Exhibit "C."
Section 4. Pursuant to Kotzebue Municipal Code 1.12.030(B), this Ordinance shall become effective on July 1, 2006.

Exhibit A

2.36.080 Ambulance service.

A. Function Assigned. There shall be within the fire department, in addition to the normal fire protection and prevention activities, an ambulance service to provide emergency care and transportation of the critically ill and injured.
B. Rules and Regulations. The fire chief shall keep a set of rules and regulations governing the operation of the ambulance service which shall become effective when approved and filed with the city council.
C. Rates of Charge for Service. The fire chief shall recommend to the city manager a schedule of fees for the ambulance service which shall become effective following a public hearing and approval by the city council.
D. Equipment. The fire chief shall be responsible to the city manager for recommending such equipment, supplies and apparatus as may be required to provide an efficient and dependable ambulance service.
E. Report. The fire chief shall include data and information required by Section 2.36.060. (Ord. 03-8 3 (part), 2003: prior code 2.40.070).
