Kotzebue Animal Control Information
The Kotzebue Animal Control Officer(a.k.a. "The Dog Catcher"), responds to numerous calls daily concerning the safety and health of Kotzebue's pet population. Required Licensing and Rabies vaccinations are available during business hours Monday thru Friday.
All Dogs in the City of Kotzebue MUST be licensed every year.
ANIMAL CONTROL POLICY:
Dogs with a form of ID. (i.e. Tags) are kept for one(1) week after the week they are disposed of.
Dogs without a form of ID are kept for 24 hours then disposed of.
$5.00 Individual Dog License
IMPOUNDMENT FEES
$50.00 initial Impoundment Fee
$10.00 Each Day thereafter

TOXIC TO DOGS
Poison control states as few as 7 raisins or grapes could be toxic to a dog. Any exposure should give rise to immediate concern. Onions, chocolate, cocoa and macadamia nuts can be fatal too. Other foods which could cause problems are: Bread dough, raw salmon, Xylito (Sweetener in sugar-free candies), Turkey Skin and cooked chicken bones.
Even if you don't have a dog, you might have friends who do. This is worth passing on to them.
